vendor spaces set up in the 450-acre
First Monday Park to sell their wares.

Education

The City of Canton is served by the Canton Independent School District. Canton ISD is classified as a 3A school district by the University Interscholastic League. Many students are active in debate and not only excel in that but in many other areas of Interscholastic League events. CISD also boasts a top-rated band that claimed First Place in State three consecutive years and were invited to several European countries to perform. The cross country track won State championship two years. Canton athletics include football, girl’s volleyball, cross country, basketball, power lifting, track and field, golf, tennis, softball and baseball. 

Elementary campus facilites were constructed in 1976.  High School facilities were constructed in 1989.  A state-of-the-art Fine Arts auditorium, additional classrooms and athletic facilities were added in 2004.  Intermediate campus facilities were constructed in 2001.  The Junior High campus was completed in 2005.
