The City of Canton's Retail Trade Area is estimated at 41,168 not counting the First Monday visitors that travel to Canton from all over the United States.  Depending on the month and weather, we have anywhere from 250,000 to 350,000 monthly.  With our growth comes new businesses, and expansion of existing businesses. A new shopping center is located on Hwy. 243 that includes Chen's Buffet Restaurant, Anytime Fitness Center, Hibbett’s Sports, and several other new businesses. The Trader’s Square Shopping Center at Hwys 19 and 243 has completed renovations and showcases several retail and service businesses such as Bealls Dept. Store, Tractor Supply, Factory Connections, Family Dollar Store, Aaron Rental Store, Oasis Day Spa and City Nail Salon. Phase One of the new Trinity Mother Frances Direct Care Clinic has been completed on I-20. It includes cardiac rehab, Ross Breast Center and a fitness center. Also on I-20, is the location of Splash Kingdom Water Park, the largest family water park between Dallas and Shreveport. Brookshire’s Food Store has moved into their brand new store on Hwy. 243 East, doubling the size of its store.  Dollar General just completed a new larger facility on Hwy 243 by CVS Pharmacy and a new dental clinic/professional office building just opened its doors on State Hwy. 19 South. 

Mill Creek RV Ranch Resort opened in 2008 and has been named the second best RV Recreational Resort in Texas. New business opening soon in June 2011 will be a 40,000 square feet Canton Oaks Care Center and Rehab Facility which will offer in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation service with long-term in-patient nursing care for up to 120 patients.  Duke's Travel Plaza at I-20 and State Hwy. 64 with a 11,000 square feet building, two restaurants, dog park, tourist test area, and more will be open by June 2011 and Denny's Restaurant, at I-20 and State Hwy. 19, will be open by September 2011.
